Durapatch

Epoxy Floor Patching & Concrete Repair Compound

Product Description

Durapatch is a three component , rapid setting epoxy resin rebuilding and resurfacing compound used to inexpensively fill in deeply eroded and spalled or worn concrete floors and structures. When mixed together to a uniform consistency, it can also be poured as a grout.

It can be applied by trowel to any thickness, from a feather edge to deep repair and, because of its fast setting time, high strength and resistance to chemical attack, it is ideal for use in a wide variety of applications where concrete or other materials would prove inadequate. When a tough, permanent repair of a problem area is required, Durapatch is the ideal choice.

Durapatch - Salient Features:

Surface Preparation:

Concrete surfaces should be structurally sound and free of all contaminants. Lack of adequate surface preparation causes premature failure. Remove any existing surface contamination such as loose paint, weak concrete, chemicals, oils, dirt and waxes by utilizing mechanical methods, such as abrasive blasting, power grinding or wire brushing. Another common methods involves chemical etching of the surface using 10-15% aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid. Allow this acid solution to remain on the surface for 10-15 minutes or until the bubbling stops. Then, thoroughly rinse the surface with water to remove all traces of acid. Allow the floor to dry completely before application.

Using Durapatch:

Durapatch consists of three components. Component - A, Component - B & Component - C. All the three components comprising Durapatch are supplied in pre-weighed quantities and are ready for mixing by hand, mechanical mixer or stirrer. Empty contents of containers of Component - B & Component - C entirely in Component - A and stir well for 3-4 minutes. DO NOT SUB-DIVIDE KITS. After thorough mixing, pour Durapatch within 30 minutes on the prepared floor and spread with a serrated trowel or metal float to the required thickness, following which it levels out to produce a smooth flat surface.

If more than 1/2" thickness is required on vertical or overhead surfaces, some form of shuttering must be used. To obtain greater thicknesses without support, the compound can be layered provided each layer is applied at the tacky stage of the previous layer to obtain maximum adhesion. Tools should be well cleaned with Anusol-ETP Thinner.

Applications:

Durapatch can be used in a wide variety of areas of building and civil engineering, especially in repair and replacement of concrete where concrete is subjected to high point loading, heavy wear, impact and chemical attacks. In civil engineering and building Durapatch is an ideal material for bridge bearing pads, expansion point nosings, kerb beddding and for bonding together pre-cast units. It can also be used as a grout for fixing plant.

Durapatch has been developed primarily for the repair of damage, deeply eroded, spalled or cracked structural concrete ; for worn areas of floors, and stair treads. And because Durapatch is water-resistant, it can safely be used outdoors on such applications as airfields and roads.
